This beautiful vintage edition of Little Susy Stories by Mrs E Prentiss was published by Collins Clear Type Press. The book itself is undated but there is a presentation plate dated 1910 - so the book is likely from the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in red cloth with beautiful pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's a really striking binding and in very good condition. There is light wear to the corners and foxing to the text block edges. The boards show minor wear and marking. There is faint sunning to the spine and crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a small hole to the half title page and a presentation plate glued to the front free endpaper. The pages show significant age toning and foxing throughout but the text is clear and bright. There is a small tear to the edge of page 29 - this is only in the margin.
The book features a handful of colour plates by A H Buckland.
The books will be posted hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
