This stunning edition of Elsie Wins by Ellinor Davenport Adams was published by Blackie and Son; even though the book itself is undated, there is a written inscription dated 1911. So the book is likely to be from the end of the Edwardian era, or just after.
The pictorial decoration on the front board and spine of this book is particularly endearing and features a girl reading. It's in very good condition with just light wear to the corners and foxing to the text block edges. The boards show minor marks and the spine ends are crushed.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper and the endpapers show tanning. There is also creasing to the top corner of the FFEP. The pages are clean and bright with minimal toning and only occasional foxing.
Dimensions approximately 18.3cm x 12.8cm x 2.5cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
