This beautiful vintage edition ofMr Midshipman Easy by Captain Marryat was published by Milner and Company. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to have been published circa 1890.
The book is bound in green cloth with ornate gilt floral decoration to the front board and black blind stamped decoration to the spine and boards. It's in very good condition with just a slight forward lean. There is some minor wear and fraying to the cloth at the corners, and light marking to the cloth. The spine is faintly sunned and the text block edges are toned with some foxing.
Inside, there is some marking to the preliminary pages and light toning to the paper.
The books will be posted hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
