This beautiful edition of The Hole and Corner Book; Verses by B Parker and Illustrations by N Parker was published by W & R Chambers Ltd. The book is undated but after some research, I'd estimate it to be 1910's (there is a penned inscription dated 1919).
It's a large coffee table style book, bound in paper. It's in very good condition but there is wear and crushing to the corners and spine ends. This has caused some loss to the surface of the paper. There is also bumping and wear to the board edges. The boards show light marking and scuffing.
Inside, there is a penned inscription to the front pastedown and faint creasing to the top corner of the preliminary pages. There is age toning and foxing to the preliminary and end pages, but the rest of the pages are clean and bright with only occasional handling marks.
The illustrations by N Parker are just stunning and have so much detail. Dimensions approximately 32.7cm x 23.4cm x 1.4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
