This beautiful Edwardian edition of British Birds and Their Eggs by J Maclair Boraston was published by W & R Chambers Ltd. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be early 20th Century.

The book is bound in green cloth with stunning decoration to the front board and spine. It's in good condition but there is wear and crushing to the corners and light marking to the boards. The spine is sunned and there is rubbing to the spine edges; crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting in the cloth. There is wear to the board edges.
Inside, there are two written inscriptions in pen to the front free endpaper. The pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing, with occasional creasing to the top corner where a past reader has dog eared the pages. There is light cracking to the gutter in places (including at the title page) and the detached plate shows wear and tear to the edges.
Dimensions approximately 19.3cm x 14cm x 4.4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
