This beautiful collection of four volumes covers A History of Everyday Things in England from 1066 to 1914. It was written and illustrated by Marjorie Quennel and was published in the early to mid 1950's by Batsford.
All four books are neatly bound in matching grey cloth and still have their original dust jackets. There have some light wear and tear, particularly around the edges, with a little loss to the paper in places. The spines are noticeably faded and there is light soiling and marking to the DJs.
Inside every volume, the front free endpaper has been removed (probably to remove inscriptions) so the books open onto the half title pages. Otherwise the pages are clear and bright with only minor signs of wear.
Every book purchased will arrived hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I'm gradually in the process of switching to eco friendly packaging, including 100% recyclable jiffy bags.
