This beautiful edition of Gleanings from the Fields of Nature by Edward T Connold was published by the Religious Tract Society in 1910. So the book is from the end of the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in green/brown cloth with black and gilt detail to the front and spine. The front also has a black and white pasted on illustration. It's in very good condition but the cloth does show some discolouration and there is light wear to the corners. The spine ends are crushed and there is minor bumping to the board edges. There is also foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, there is a name plate glued to the front free endpaper which is covering over an older presentation plate. The pages show age toning and heavy foxing throughout. Illustrated with black and white plates throughout. Dimensions approximately 20.3cm x 14.3cm x 3.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
