This beautiful antique edition of Stirring Stories for Girls by A Selection of Authors was published by Hutchinson and Co. The book itself is undated but I've seen another book in this binding with an inscription dated 1911. So the book is likely from the early 20th Century.
The book is in good condition but there is wear and bumping to the corners and board edges. The boards show some light soiling and marking and the spine is sunned, with rubbing to the decoration. The spine ends are crushed.
Inside, both hinges are cracked and the text block sits a little lower than it should in relation to the cover. There's very slight surface damage to the front free endpaper where something has been removed (either a post it note or presentation plate). The pages show age toning throughout, with scattered foxing and marking. There are superficial cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 20cm x 14.5cm x 4.5cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
