This beautiful decorative edition of The Country of the Pointed Firs by Sarah Orne Jewett also contains four other stories by the same author. It was published by The Franklin Library in 1984. The book features a sumptuous full leather binding with ornate gilt decoration to the boards and spine. The spine also features five raised bands and the text block edges are all gilt. There is a satin ribbon page marker. It was a limited edition exclusively for subscribers and part of the Collected Stories of the World's Greatest Writer.
The book is in near fine condition with only minor marks to the leather.
Inside, the pages are in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear. There are some striking illustrations inside by Kevin King and the endpapers are moiré (watered) silk. There is very slight fading around the edges of the endpapers.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
