This lovely vintage edition of Watership Down by Richard Adams was published in 1975 by Rex Collings. The book still has it's original dust jacket but what's incredibly special about this particular book, is it's inscribed and signed by the author Richard Adams on the title page.
The book is in remarkably good condition but does show a slight forward lean, and there is some soiling and foxing to the text block edges. The DJ has some scuffs and indentations, as well as creasing and minor marking. There is wear to the edges of the DJ, particularly at the spine ends and corners - one corner has a small tear to it. Underneath the DJ, the book is bound in green cloth with gilt detail to the front board and lettering to the spine. It has some wear to the corners and spine ends, as well as a small stain to the back board.
Inside, the DJ is unclipped but there is some marking to the front endpaper. As mentioned above, there is an inscription from the author on the title page, with his signature dated 1977. The pages show age toning throughout, with marking in places but are in good, vintage condition. The binding is pulling slightly at the title page.
Dimensions approximately 22.5cm x 14.6cm x 4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
