This beautiful vintage edition of Mansfield Park by Jane Austen was published by Heron Books. It was part of a special collection that was brought out in the late 1960's/early 1970's. They are becoming an increasingly sought after binding. The book is undated at the front but dated 1970 at the back.
This deluxe book is bound in full leather and features ornate gilt tooling to the front board and spine. The spine features five raised bands and there are complimentary blue moiré silk endpapers inside.
The book is in near fine condition with two very minor marks to the leather. The ribbon page marker is creased and there are some light scuffs to the gilt text block edges.
Inside, the book there are no inscriptions or dedications and the pages are clean and bright with sporadic foxing. The silk endpapers are faintly discoloured with light foxing. ***Please note that the book has a musty smell when opened***
There are beautiful black and white illustrations throughout the book...which makes it an extra special read.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
