This lovely vintage edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll was published by London Macmillan and Co in 1953.
The book is bound in original green cloth, with pictorial decoration to the front board. It's in good condition for it's age but there is staining to the boards and bumping to the board edges. The corners show light wear and bumping and there is rubbing to the spine edges. The spine is sunned and crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is a neatly written name and date in pencil to the front free endpaper. The pages show light age toning and foxing, and sporadic tea stains throughout - someone was obviously enjoying a cuppa whilst reading!
The book features 42 beautiful black and white illustrations by John Tenniel which make it an extra special read.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
