This pretty vintage edition of Cranford by Mrs Elizabeth Gaskell was published by C and J Temple Ltd in 1947. It is bound in blue cloth, with a portrait of Mrs Gaskell in gilt to the front. It still has its original dust jacket which is protected by clear plastic.
The DJ is in good plus condition but does show some marking, as well as wear and tear to the edges. There is spotting and discolouration to the blue cloth underneath the DJ.
Inside, the DJ has been clipped but there are no inscriptions. The pages show some light toning wits occasional creasing to the paper.
The book features beautiful black and white illustrations by Arthur Wragg which add to the charm of this vintage volume.
