This striking edition of Dream Days by Kenneth Grahame was published by The Bodley Head in 1945. The book is illustrated by Ernest Shepard - an illustrator best known for illustrating the works of AA Milne.
The book is bound in beige cloth with pretty blind stamped detail to the front board. It's in very good condition for it's age - the book does show a slight forward lean and there is light wear and crushing to the corners. The back board shows minor marking and there is bumping to the edges.
Inside, there is a written inscription and name on the front free endpaper. There are some superficial cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound. The pages show faint toning and sporadic foxing.
Book Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 1.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
