This beautiful vintage edition of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen was published by London Macmillan and Co in 1942. The book is bound in original publisher's cloth with gilt lettering and detail to the spine.
The book is in good condition for it's age, but it's been priced to reflect the wear it's showing. The book has a pronounced forward lean and there is marking and spotting to the boards. The bottom corner of the back board is stained. The spine is faded and marked, with crushing to the spine ends, and the corners are lightly rubbed.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and a written inscription on the front free endpaper. There is slight cracking to the back hinge and another crack to the gutter at the title page, revealing the webbing. The pages show light age toning and occasional minor marking but are otherwise in very good condition.
The book features beautiful black and white illustrations by Charles E Brock.
Dimensions approximately 17.3cm x 11.5cm x 2cm
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
