This lovely edition of The Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World by Sir Edward Creasy was published by Humphrey Milford Oxford University Press in 1915.
The book is bound in full burgundy leather with beautiful gilt decoration to the spine in an art nouveau spine. There is also a school's coat of arms blind stamped in gilt to the front board. It's in very good condition but there is some scuffing to the leather and very faint sunning to the spine.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and a very small tear to the top edge of the front endpaper. The pages show light age toning throughout, with foxing to the preliminary and end pages.
Dimensions approximately 18.5cm x 13cm x 3cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
