This beautiful edition of Nature's Workshop by William J Claxton was published by George Harrap and Co Ltd in 1912. The book is bound green cloth with decoration in pale green to the front and spine. The front also has a pasted on illustration.
It's in very good condition with the most noticeable flaw being a small stain to the front and sunning to the spine. The text block edges show heavy foxing and there is minor marking to the cloth.
Inside, the endpapers are tanned and there is a written name and date on the front free endpaper. There is heavy foxing throughout but the text is clear and bright. There is a bookseller's sticker to the bottom corner of the back pastedown.
There are seven black and white plates (there are eight listed in the contents but one of those is the illustration on the front board). Dimensions approximately 19.5cm x 13.6cm x 2.5cm.
The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
