This beautiful edition of The Book of Craftsmen by Marjory Bruce was published by George Harrap and Co Ltd in 1937. It's the first time I've seen this book with it's dust jacket, which is a treat.
The book is bound in green cloth with pictorial detail to the front board and blind stamped decoration to the spine. It's in superb condition with minimal signs of wear. It's obviously been well looked after in it's 86 years of life, and the DJ is protected with clear plastic. The DJ has discolouration to the spine and back cover, with some minor marking in places. There is wear and minor loss to the spine ends.
Inside, the endpapers are tanned and there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper. The pages show some discolouration and minor marking but are otherwise clean and bright.
The book features beautiful black and white illustrations throughout which make it an extra special read.
Dimensions approximately 21.5cm x 15.5cm x 4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
