This lovely antique edition of Jan of the Windmill was published by G Bell and Sons in 1917. These bindings by G Bell are popular with collectors because of the stunning colour plates by MV Wheelhouse.
The book is in near fine condition with just light rubbing to the corners and light sunning to the spine. The boards are slightly bowed.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully illustrated but they do show light tanning. There is a penned inscription on the half title page. Some of the page edges are very jagged - the book must have been released with some uncut pages and a previous reader has separated them by hand.
The colour plates by MV Wheelhouse are really stunning. Dimensions approximately 18.3cm x 13.5cm x 3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
