This stunning antique edition of It Is Never Too Late to Mend by Charles Reade was published by Chatto and Windus in 1925. The book is bound in half calf leather with pale brown cloth boards. The spine features five raised bands and ornate gilt tooling and the text block edges are marbled.
The book is in very good condition with the most noticeable flaw being the fading to the spine. There are some tiny chips to the surface of the leather - seen to one of the raised bands and one of the corners. The boards show minor marks and scuffing, and there is fading to the leather of the back board.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled to match the edge of the text block. There are no inscriptions and the pages are clean and bright with only occasional foxing.
Dimensions approximately 18.8cm x 12.7cm x 3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is either oxo-degradable (pale green in colour) or upcycled from deliveries I've had (this is clear and fully recyclable). The jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
