This lovely antique edition of Mary's Meadow & Other Tales of Fields and Flowers was published by G Bell and Sons in 1934. These bindings by G Bell are popular with collectors because of the stunning colour plates by MV Wheelhouse.
The book is in very good condition with just light wear and bumping to the corners. The spine is sunned and discoloured, whilst the text block edges show light foxing.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully illustrated but there is penned name and quote on the front pastedown. The pages show are clean and bright with occasional foxing. There is bumping to the bottom edge of the text block which has caused some creasing.
The colour plates by MV Wheelhouse are really stunning. Dimensions approximately 18.1cm x 13.1cm x 2.6cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
