This beautiful, antique hardback edition of Folk Tales from Many Lands was published by George Harrap in 1910. The book is bound in green cloth with stunning floral detail in gilt to the front board and spine - the decoration has an art nouveau style to it.
The book is in very good condition with just light wear and bumping to the board edges and corners. The text block edges show minor foxing and there is faint sunning and marking to the spine. The spine edges are rubbed and there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing, with occasional small stains. There are some superficial cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound.
The book features stunning illustrations by Willy Pogany, one of the Golden Age illustrators from the early 20th Century. Most are in black and white but there are a handful of colour plates too.
Dimensions of the book are approximately 21.3cm 15.5cm x 3.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% oxo-degradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
