This beautiful scarce first edition of The Ideal Garden by H.H.Thomas was published by Cassell and Company Ltd in 1910.
This lovely vintage book is bound in green cloth with ornate decoration to the front board and spine. It's in good condition for it's age but the corners show wear and there is splitting to the cloth of the bottom corners. There is a faint stain to the front board and the back board shows some marking and scuffing. The spine shows minor sunning and marking, and there is rubbing to the spine edges. There is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is cracking to the hinges which have been reinforced with glued. There is a rubbed out price to the front free endpaper and one page has been reattached with sellotape (this page has wear and tear around the edges). The pages show age toning and foxing throughout. There is slight cracking to the gutter in places.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 15cm x 4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
