This gorgeous 12th edition of When We Were Very Young by AA Milne was published by Methuen and Co in 1925. It's bound in blue cloth with gilt decoration to the front board.
It's in very good condition considering it's almost 100 years old. There is very light wear to the corners, which has caused very miniscule splitting in the cloth. The front board is faintly creased and the boards show minor marking. The spine is sunned and crushing to the spine ends has caused some minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the pages show age toning and scattered foxing with the occasional minor mark but are otherwise clean and bright. There is a Tip-Exed inscription on the half title page. The gutter shows cracks in places but the pages remain tightly bound. Some of the page edges have minor bumps and chips to them.
There are striking black and white illustrations by Ernest H Shepard - the illustrator famous for illustrating Winnie the Pooh.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
