This lovely edition of Tales from the Derbyshire Hills by Katharine Bruce Glasier was published by The Independent Labour Party in 1907. So the book is from the Edwardian era. It has a clear plastic jacket.
The book is bound in yellow cloth with beautiful pictorial decoration of a reading lady to the front board. It's in fair condition for it's age but there is some water damage to the boards which has caused discolouration and staining. The boards are slightly bowed and the cloth is soiled, The spine is darkened and marked, with crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a name and address written on the front free endpaper and the pages show significant tanning throughout. There is occasional marking and the gutter has some superficial cracks in places (the pages remain tightly bound).
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
