This beautiful edition of Saunterings in Bookland with Gleanings By The Way was published by Wells Gardner Darton and Co in 1899.
The book is bound in burgundy cloth with stunning gilt decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition with light crushing to the corners and rubbing to the gilt. Sunning to the spine has caused dulling and the spine ends are crushed. There are some minor marks to the back board.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper and the pages show light age toning throughout with scattered foxing. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is missing.
Dimensions approximately 17.2cm x 11.1cm x 2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
