This lovely edition of Villette by Charlotte Bronte and The Bronte Poems was published by Henry Frowde in 1906. So the book is from the mid Edwardian era. It's bound in full leather with gilt tooling to the spine. Top edge gilt.
It's in very good condition, with light wear to the corners and board edges. There is foxing to the text block edges and there is faint scuffing to the spine. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor loss to the surface of the leather.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper and the pages show light age toning and scattered foxing. There are occasional handling marks.
Dimensions approximately 15.4cm x 9.6cm x 3.3cm.
The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
