This pretty First Edition of Insect Life by C.A.Ealand was published by A and C Black in 1921 and features original publisher's cloth. This beautiful book features insect and foliage decoration that has quite an art nouveau feel to it.
It's in good condition but there is light wear to the corners and the book has a slight forward lean. There is a small hole to the edge of the back board, and the boards show minor marks. The spine is sunned and darkened, and crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting in the cloth - most noticeably is a 1.5cm split to the head of the spine.
Inside, there is a crossed out name to the front free endpaper and the endpapers are tanned. The pages show age toning and sporadic foxing but are otherwise in good, antique condition.
The book features a beautiful collection of illustration plates throughout.
