This stunning little antique edition of Seventeenth Century Lyrics Edited by George Saintsbury was published by Rivingtons in 1903. So the book is likely to be from the early Edwardian period. 

It's an incredibly striking cover - bound in navy cloth with ornate and intricate gilt decoration to the front board and spine. The style is very art nouveau. It's in very good condition for it's age, with only light wear to the corners and faint sunning to the spine. The spine ends are crushed. 

Inside, the endpapers feature a beautiful floral pattern and there are three hand written letters tucked loosely inside. The pages show light age toning but are remarkably clean and bright for their age. There is faint tanning to the endpapers. 

The page edges are rough cut (deckled) which is a lovely feature in old books. 

The book measures approximately 14.8cm x 11.8cm x 2.3cm. 

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
