This delightful little leather book features a mounted metal front cover - it's not hallmarked so unlikely to be silver (there is a faint stamp at the bottom but not a British hallmark). The white metal features a beautiful repousse design of a lady surrounded by flowers and foliage. It's got quite an art nouveau feel to it.
The white metal is in good condition, with only some small scuffs and bumps. The leather is worn, with some small chips in places, and there is wear to the edges. There is some marking to the gilt text block edges.
Inside, the front hinge has been inexpertly repaired with plastic tape which has browned with age. The edges of the front free endpaper are a little ragged. The pages show light age toning and there are some names filled in, alongside pencil scribbles in places.
This tiny book measures just 10.8cm x 8cm x 1.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
