This stunning book was published by George Newnes Ltd in 1900 and contains William Shakespeare's The Tempest, Two Gentlemen of Verona and Measure for Measure...It is volume i in what would originally have been a complete set of Shakespeare's work.
The book is bound in blue cloth with stunning gilt decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition but there is bumping to the board edges and corners. The spine is faintly sunned with crushing to the spine ends, and there are some minor marks to the cloth.
Inside, there is tanning to the free endpapers and a name and address in pen to the front pastedown. The pages show light age toning and occasional handling marks but are otherwise clean and bright. There is slight rippling to the edges of the preliminary pages.
Dimensions approximately 15.7cm x 10.5cm x 2.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
