This beautiful edition of The Poetical Works of Elizabeth Barrett Browning was published by Smith Elder and Co in 1914. It is bound in dark green cloth with gilt detail to the front and lettering to the spine.
It's in very good condition with light spotting to the front board and minor marking to the back board. The spine is lightly sunned with a small water mark; there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the pages show light age toning and occasional foxing (most prominent to the preliminary pages). What's particularly lovely is that someone has gone to the trouble to write one of the sonnet's out by hand and has tipped it into the book opposite it's typed counterpart.
Dimensions approximately 19.8cm x 14.6cm x 4.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
