This beautiful edition of Tragic Romances by Fiona Macleod was published by Patrick Geddes and Colleagues. It is bound in half calf with marbled paper boards. The spine features five raised bands and top edge gilt. It is volume three in what would originally have been a collection of three volumes of short stories.
It's in very good condition with light wear to the corners and board edges. There is light foxing to the text block edges and one page segment sticks out slightly from the text block. The leather shows minor marking and there is a slight crack starting to the bottom of the front hinge.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled and there are two penned names and dates to one of the preliminary blank pages. The pages are clean and bright with minor age toning and very occasional foxing.
Dimensions approximately 20.3cm x 12.9cm x 2.4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
