This absolutely stunning Parisian Missal is housed in an extremely fine binding - full leather, with gilt decoration to the boards and spine. All edges gilt and the spine also features five raised bands. It was published in 1899.
It is in excellent condition, with only some very light wear to the board edges and spine ends. The boards are ever so slightly bowed. There is a small mark to the back board.
Inside, there are silk endpapers and gilt inner dentelles. The pages show age toning and scattered foxing but are remarkably clean and bright for their age. The pages have stunning illustrated borders and there are a handful of black and white plates. The tissue guards for these plates are creased.
