This lovely antique edition of Storm Warriors Or Lifeboat Work by The Rev John Gilmore was published by Macmillan and Co in 1879. It's bound in blue cloth with blind stamped decoration in gilt to the front and spine.
It's in good condition but does show a slight forward lean and crushing to the corners. There is quite heavy marking to the back board and the spine is sunned and discoloured. Crushing to the spine ends has caused very minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright with scattered handling marks and foxing. There are occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 19.4cm x 13.6cm x 3.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
