This beautiful antique edition of Fruit Culture for Amateurs S.T.Wright was published by L Upcott Gill in 1898. It is the second edition. The book is bound in original green cloth with pictorial decoration of leaves to the front board and spine.
It's a striking binding and in near fine condition. There is light bumping to the corners and a small white mark to the back board. There is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there are advertisements to the front and rear of the book and some pencilled numbers to the bottom corner of the front pastedown. The pages are clean and bright with occasional foxing and marking. The book is prolifically illustrated with black and white illustrations - both full page and within the text. There are occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 2.4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
