This late Victorian edition of Bulfinch's Age of Fable or Beauties of Mythology was published by David Mckay in 1898.
The book is bound in burgundy cloth with pretty blind stamped detail and gold gilt lettering to the front board and spine. It's in good condition considering it's over 125 years old but there are signs of wear. Most noticeable is the fading and staining to the spine. Crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting and minor loss to the cloth. The boards show minor marks and there is bumping to the board edges. The corners are worn and crushed, and there is splitting to the cloth of the bottom corners which has just revealed the board beneath.
Inside, the pages show age toning and light marking in places. There are stunning illustrations throughout.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
