This stunning book was published by George Newnes Ltd in 1900 and contains William Shakespeare's King Richard II and King Henry IV parts i and ii...It is volume v in what would originally have been a complete set of Shakespeare's work.
***This book is priced to reflect the staining to the back board - it's such a shame because the front and spine are in very good condition, and the gilt is bright. I'm hoping someone is ready to give this book a home***
The book is bound in blue cloth with stunning gilt decoration to the front board and spine. As mentioned above (and as shown in the photos) there is old water damage and staining to the back board. The text block edges show some foxing.
Inside, there is tanning to the free endpapers and a name and address in pen to the front pastedown. The pages show light age toning and occasional foxing.
Dimensions approximately 15.7cm x 10.5cm x 2.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
