This beautiful edition of Sweetheart Travellers was published by Wells Gardner Darton and Co in 1895, so the book is from the late Victorian era. It is a second edition, published just two months after the first edition. It is a child's story for Children, Women and Men (according to the title page!).
The book features pale grey, cloth boards with beautiful blind stamped detail to the front board and spine. The book is in remarkably good condition for it's age, but does show wear and crushing to the corners. There is a forward lean and there is some minor rubbing to the front board. The boards show scuffing and minor marking. The spine is faintly sunned with crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is discolouration and spotting to the endpapers and there are two written names on the half title page. The pages are clean and bright with only sporadic marking and occasional foxing.
The book has some beautiful black and white illustrations which make it an extra special read.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
