This striking edition of Sea and Land by NS Shaler was published in 1894 by Charles Scribner's. The book is bound in original pictorial green cloth.
It's in near fine condition, with just light wear to the board edges and crushing to the bottom corners. The cloth shows minor marks and rubbing and there are two small holes in the cloth along the bottom edges of the boards.
Inside, there is tanning to the pages (most prominent to the margins) and the binding thread can be seen at the gutter occasionally. Pages remain tightly bound. There are 9 full page illustrations and 38 illustrations within the text.
Dimensions approximately 23cm x 16.3cm x 2.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
