This stunning 1868 box set of the Poetry of Sir Walter Scott was published by Adam and Charles Black. The books are uniformly bound in tartan cloth and feature the original box.
The books are in very good condition with light wear to the edges and corner. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth and the spines are faintly sunned. The boards show some rubbing and minor marking. The box has wear to the edges and corners with some slight fraying to the cloth.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright with minimal wear. The binding thread is pulling slightly at the gutter in places.
Dimensions of the box set approximately 14.6cm x 10.4cm x 9.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
