This beautiful edition ofSocial Habitations by Rev J G Wood was published by Longmans, Green and Co in 1888. It's bound in original publisher's blue cloth over bevelled boards, with pictorial decoration to the front and spine. It's a striking binding. All edges gilt.
It's in very good condition but there is light wear to the corners and minor marking to the boards. The spine is sunned and discoloured and there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a penned name to the front free endpaper and tanning to the free endpapers. The pages are clean and bright with light age toning and very occasional marks. There occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound. Dimensions approximately 18.7cm x 12.6cm x 1.8cm. There are some striking black and white illustrations.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
