This beautiful late Victorian edition of Legends and Lyrics by Adelaide Proctor was published by George Bell and Son in 1899. It's bound in full calf leather with marbled text block edges and five raised bands to the spine. The spine also features gilt tooling and a red leather title label.
Adelaide Proctor was one of Queen Victoria' favourite poets and the book features an introduction by Charles Dickens.
The book is in very good condition with minor scuffing and discolouration to the boards. One corner shows slight damage, whilst the other three show lighter wear. There is some wear and minor loss to the gilt at the tail of the spine and a small area of loss to the surface of the leather title label.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright with sporadic foxing. Endpapers are marbled. The book features very striking black and white plates.
Dimensions of the book are approximately 18.4cm x 13.1cm x 3.3cm.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
