This beautiful antique edition of The Oxford Book of French Verse was published by Oxford Clarendon Press in 1920. It's a prize binding, bound in full calf with the coat of arms of Christ's Hospital blind stamped in gilt to the front. There is very pretty and delicate gilt to the spine - it almost looks like a flower garden blooming under a starry night.
It's in near fine condition with minor scuffing to the boards and slight fading to the spine. There is very faint foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown endpapers. The pages are clean and bright with occasional foxing. Dimensions approximately 17.3cm x 11.7cm x 2.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
