This stunning antique edition of The Language and Poetry of Flowers was published by Marcus Ward and Co in 1876. So the book is from the mid Victorian era.

This beautiful book is bound in brown cloth with pretty blind stamped detail in black and gilt to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition, with just some light wear and crushing to the corners. The boards show minor marks and the spine ends are crushed. 

Inside, there is a rubbed out name and date on the front free endpaper and a written inscription on the reverse of the frontispiece. The pages show age toning and foxing throughout, with some creasing to the pages. There are beautiful illuminated colour plates which are really stunning. There are a few cracks to the gutter in places, but the pages remain tightly bound. 

Dimensions approximately 12.2cm x 8.5cm x 1.7cm. 

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
