This stunning French book Drames Moraux Propres a Etre Representes dans Les Maison D'Education was published in 1857 and features a stunning black card binding with gilt decoration to the boards and spine.
Antiquarian French books have become increasingly popular in recent years - they are often little works of art, with stunning gilt work and brightly coloured bindings.
The book is in good condition but there is wear to the corners and dulling/rubbing to the gilt on the boards (a little loss to the gilt in places). Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting and loss.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown (this has creasing where it has been folded over). The pages are clean and bright with occasional foxing and creasing. Dimensions approximately 18.8cm x 11.4cm x 1.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
