This beautiful vintage edition of The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan was published by Bickers and Son in 1881. So the book is from the mid Victorian era. It's bound in brown cloth over bevelled boards, with beautiful blind stamped decoration in black and gilt to the front board and spine.
Externally, it's in near fine condition, with just light wear and bumping to the corners and board edges. The back board has minor marks and scuffs, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused very slight splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is slight cracking to the front hinge and a penned inscription on the verso of the FFEP> There is also a bookseller's stamp to the top corner of the front pastedown. The pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout. The book features beautiful illustrations by T Stothard, reproduced in permanent photography.

The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
