This beautiful edition of Half Hours in the Far South was published by Wm Isbister Ltd in 1881. It's bound in red cloth over bevelled boards with blind stamped decoration in black and gilt to the front board and spine. All edges gilt.
It's in very good condition with the most noticeable flaw being the fading to the spine. There is light marking to the boards and subtle bumping to the board edges.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright with scattered foxing (the foxing is heaviest to the preliminary and end pages, as well as the margins of the text). The book features both beautiful black and white plates, as well as black and white illustrations within the text.
Dimensions approximately 17.9cm x 12.6cm x 3.4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
