This lovely mid Victorian edition of Treapassers by Rev J G Wood was published in 1875 by Seeley, Jackson and Halliday. It’s bound in original green cloth with blind stamped detail in gilt and black to the front and spine.

It’s in very good condition, with the most noticeable flaw being the rubbing to the spine edges - this has caused some splitting near the top of the front joint. The spine is faintly sunned and crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth. The boards show minor marks and rubbing, whilst the corners also show light wear and bumping to the top corners.

Inside, there is a stamped ownership to the front free endpaper with details on borrowing and returning books. There is slight cracking to the hinges and occasionally to the gutter at places through the book but all pages remain tightly bound. The pages show sporadic foxing and handling marks. There is a written inscription at the top of the title page.

The book features both black and white plates and black and white illustrations within the text. Dimensions approximately  21.3cm x 15.5cm x 3.1cm
