This stunning Victorian edition of Rise and Fall of the Mustache and Other Hawkeyetems by Robert J Burdette was published by Burlington and Co in 1878. It's one of the weirdest titles I've ever come across! It features a collection of funny essays, sketches, and poems mocking and satirising everyday American life, domestic blunders, courtship, and the changing social trends of the Victorian era.
It's in good condition but wear to the corners has caused slight splitting and fraying to the cloth. The boards show minor marking and there is scuffing to the back board. The spine is sunned and dulled, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is a penned name to the front free endpaper and a crossed out pencil name to the front pastedown. There is slight cracking to the hinges but the pages remain tight to the binding. The pages show age toning throughout with occasional foxing and minor marking. The book features very striking black and white plates by R.W.Wallis.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
